Hello,
I thought I should let you know what progress I've made in finding a Russian wife.
I've been writing to Oksana Gestove, who lives in Komsomolsk (Russian Far East), for about a year. I think she appeared in your 6-V and 8-V catalogs. In September, I flew to Khabarovsk and met her.
We spent 2 weeks together. She graciously consented to marry me after 2 days. We tried to get married in Russia, but couldn't because of "30 day writing period". I've sent her the forms for a fiancée visa, and am waiting to get them back.
I'm quite happy with this young lady. She is 20. I am 48. She's quite intelligent, serious minded, shy and honest. She is very close to her mother, who is retired medical doctor. I offered to try to bring her mother to America. Although some American men may cringe at this, I think it is a good idea. I get along well with her mother, and her mother, I learned, played quite a matchmaker role behind the scenes.
I suspect Oksana will come to Alaska in the spring or summer. If all goes well, I'll let you know when we get married. I think you did a good think in helping me find a suitable wife. I love this girl very much. I believe she loves me. I had decided on this woman early on. There were and are risks the way I did things which for me was the right decision. For most men, however, I think that the group tour is by far the best way to go. There are many practical reasons for this, but it would take a much longer letter to explain why.
May you and your business prosper I would recommend your service to any man who is sincere and willing to accept the responsibilities of marriage.
Thanks,
Gene Trumbo, Alaska
